Social Justice Issues List For Activists
Social Justice Issues List For ActivistsIf you are one of the growing number of people who find themselves involved in activism or politics, then you should consider compiling a social justice issues list that could include a variety of issues. Your list might include international issues such as human rights, equality, democracy, and environmental protection; state-level issues such as campaign finance, voting rights, and voting laws; and local issues such as police brutality, civil rights, and abortion. This doesn't end there, though. You might also add to your list issues of particular interest to women or other non-white groups. Your list might include issues relating to financial issues, workers' rights, environmental issues, social justice issues, or gay rights. This is a great way to expose yourself to a variety of topics, without having to give all of your attention to just one or two. It is a wonderful way to sharpen your skills as an activist.Of course, when compiling a list, you need to be careful to limit the size of the list so that it does not grow to a large number of items. You don't want to include all of the items in the world. It would become very overwhelming. But there are some local issues that may be more important than others. A local women's shelter is obviously a great example. The problem is that you will not likely find information on other local issues if you begin with the national, state, or local issues of the world. You should take the necessary steps to compile a list that covers all of the areas you are interested in. The ability to follow up on a list that you compile will be critical to your ability to keep in touch with those important issues. And if you begin a list by checking in on a single issue, you will have a very limited time frame to do any follow up before the issue quickly disappears. As soon as possible, go out and talk to people who work in the field or volunteer for causes that are part of your social justice issue s list. Find out about the issues they are fighting for and how you can help with their cause.Your list should include each person's name, where they work, and what their cause is. It should be a detailed version of their issues and concerns. This will make it easier for you to begin building relationships with those you work with and it will also be a basis for future conversations.
